Asyncio is appropriate because the WebSocket and trading operations are both network IO-bound. The implementation uses asyncio instead of threads for non-blocking, IO-efficient operation. The connect_and_listen coroutine runs a perpetual WebSocket loop and updates the last_price global. The trade_periodically coroutine sleeps until the next interval boundary and then runs prediction and execution.
